Market Place Supervisor - Dining Service
Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for the position of Market Place Supervisor. This position is 40 hours per week for 52 weeks per year, and weekends on rotation.
The primary purpose of this position is supervising the day to day operation of the Dining Service and works as a part of the Dining Service Management Team.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Supervises the day-to-day operation of the Market Place, Kitchen, and Courtyard Cafe area.
Acts as manager on duty, when required, accepting sole responsibility for all aspects of dining service operations in the absence of the Assistant Director of Dining - Operations
Assists in training, evaluation and discipline of regular and student employees.
Ensures that service, sanitation, and food products meet quality standards.
Acts as communication link between Dining Service Staff and Dining customers and Assistant Director
Participates in planning meetings with Department Personnel and other Supervisory Staff.
Responds to and accepts customer feedback/concerns as received.
Fills in as Dining Service Supervisor in the Catering/Concessions areas as requested.
Coordinates scheduled and emergency maintenance with service/production schedules and communicates such to Dining Service Staff.
Works as part of the Dining Service Management Team participating in decision-making for dining service operations.
Contributes input in scheduling of full-time, part-time, and student staff.
Positive Role Model for all Dining Service Staff.
Works through the personnel of the unit to accomplish departmental goals and obligations.
Adheres to uniform and appearance expectations as established by Director of Dining Service.
Maintains professional service standards as established by the Director and Assistant Director of Dining Service.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum
Qualifications:
High School degree or equivalent.
Two years Dining Service management/supervisory experience.
Basic Math skills.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Strong communication skills.
Volume food production and service knowledge through relevant experience.
Ability to work flexible hours including over-time and weekends.
Dependable, positive reinforcer, self motivated and directed.
Dedicated to service of Gustavus Community.
Possession of valid driver's license (class C).
